Making cheating complicated: the shuffle feature

Tests and examinations delivered using Question Tools can be randomized to make cheating difficult. These are the ways in which it can be done:

  • The order in which the screens are presented can be random. This means that each student trainee sees the screens in a different order.
  • Screens can be selected at random, so that each student or trainee only answers some of the questions.
  • Multiple choice order can be randomly assigned.

The last feature is new. Question Tools Editor allows tests to be created with a shuffle feature turned on, so that even if two students get the same screen the order of multiple choice options will be different for each one. This order is retained, so that if the examination or test is reviewed the person inspecting the answers will see the options in the same order in which the student saw them.
