The 3.0.10 updateRandom selection of questions improvedThe feature that randomly selects screens, so that each user has a different set of questions for their test or exam, used to also put these screens in random order. This has been changed with the latest update. Now, screens will only be put into random order if the Random Order option is selected. Sound in web pagesThe media war war between QuickTime, Real Networks and Microsoft has led to problems playing back sounds on web pages. In the latest update we have improved sound played in web-based materials to reduce the number of problems that can occur (by attempting to select an audio player, and falling back to the default option if our selection fails). In addition, the facility to automatically move to another screen once a sound or video completes playing has been added to web-based materials, and is no longer the exclusive preserve of Question Tools Exam. However, this only works if used in Internet Explorer. As soon as this becomes possible for FireFox, Netscape and Opera we will implement it. Support for disabilitiesQuestion Tools already has excellent support for screen readers. We were recently asked to change both Exam-based delivery so that the user could just press the left and right arrow keys to move between screens. The latest update includes this. Enhancing editingRight-clicking on objects in Editor now produces a wider range of options. The latest update also makes it possible to cut, copy and paste objects that have been grouped. Finally, the pasteboard has been enhanced. It has always allowed text to be selected and then dragged into place. Now, it is possible to right-click on the selected text to send it to its destination. |
